Dear JFF community, dear CoD2 Fans!
With Call of Duty WWII around the corner, we see yet another sequel in the Call of Duty series. But if there's one CoD installment that, dispite its age, will always crush those fancy ass sequels, it is:
Call of Duty 2!
Now, back to business: all of us have noticed that the CoD2 server of JFF has pretty much died out. The server was doing very well in 2011/2012, but after that it slowly went down. There have been multiple attempts to bring the server back to life, none of them worked. I have been a member since 2011, and have seen it all happening. I know what the server was like back then, and what the server looks like today. What it looks like today sucks, so it's time to bring this server back to LIFE.
How are we going to do this? I have proposed serveral points to the admin team and to @Thunder about what should be changed on the server to allow more players back in. The main aim is to kind of bring it back to the state of 2011/2012, a true, classic Call of Duty 2 server. We all know the fancy ass servers with mods and what not, but we can be unique by providing a classic server, with some small adjustments to make it more fun.
I'm personally not sure how many of the points I raised will be implemented, so I will not go too much into detail, but the goal is to make a big change now that will be fruitful for the future, not just for the short-term. Think about:
Now for getting people back to the server. I can't do this alone, nor can @Skipper @Smokva and @SuArEz do that. We need help from the ENTIRE COMMUNITY to get this server back to its original state. Go download Call of Duty 2. --> ' but I don't have CoD 2
' --> come on, you know where to get it, use your 100% discount skills! Next thing to do is: PLAY!
I will probably make another separate post about this once server changes have been implemented, but for now the plan is to organize 3 COD2 NIGHTS PER WEEK. That is: three, fixed times in the week where we need to try to get the server as full as possible for at least one hour that night. The hope is that people will stick around after that, and join in earlier as well. This requires YOUR help!
For now, and from here on, the following nights will be marked as COD2 NIGHTS:
I will personally try my best to join in whenever I can. But again, I can't do this alone, so please, help the CoD2 section!! The server changes are there to make it more fun and interesting, but to get the server really growing, we just need to PLAY, that's right, PLAY!
I picked fixed time slots on purpose. Since this is a European server, and the server is usually most busy around this time slot, it's best to make use of that as much as we can. I don't expect this server to be full 24/7, but as a first step, let's make sure that TOGETHER we can get this server full in the evening!
So:
First COD2 night tomorrow, I'll be there with some friends. Feel free to invite friends as well, but above all, IF YOU ARE A JFF MEMBER, TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY AND JOIN!

- Shorter rounds (quicker gameplay)
- Variety in maps & map modes, including TDM/DM/CTF (to prevent it from going boring)
- A few great custom maps
- Effects & sounds back in the maps like the good ol' days
